For Golf & Travel (DERTOUR), we implemented a holistic SEO and content strategy with the aim of increasing organic visibility across the DACH region and establishing the website as the central hub for golf travel. The focus was on reaching relevant users organically throughout the entire trip-planning process and creating a sustainable foundation for growth in the organic channel.

Challenge

Golf & Travel operates in a highly competitive golf travel market. Although the website offered a broad range of destinations, hotels and travel deals, it was only partially capitalising on this potential in search. One key challenge lay in the website's technical foundation.

Issues such as unclear indexing, inefficient crawling, page-speed problems and a sub-optimally structured URL architecture made it difficult for search engines to capture and assess the content effectively.

At the same time, there was no clear content and information structure in place to guide users and search engines through the entire customer journey. The inspiration and research stages in particular held potential for additional organic reach.

Approach

We began with a comprehensive audit to identify technical, structural and content-related opportunities for optimisation. On this basis, we developed a holistic SEO strategy.

A central focus was the technical optimisation of the website, including: analysing and optimising indexing, resolving crawling issues and technical errors, improving page-load times and implementing structured data.

We also reworked the URL and page structure to create a clearer thematic structure and stronger keyword relevance. In parallel, we built a scalable content strategy, including: developing a structured guides section, a content plan for destinations, hotels and travel deals, and the creation of conversion-focused content.

The measures were implemented in such a way that successful approaches can be rolled out to further markets within the DACH region.

Results

The SEO and content strategy we implemented led to a marked improvement in organic performance across the DACH region: SEO– und Content-Strategie führte zu einer deutlichen Verbesserung der organischen Performance im DACH-Raum:

  • +1,475% visibility index (05/2024–03/2026)
  • +156.0% clicks (YoY 2026 vs. 2025)
  • +81.4% impressions (YoY 2026 vs. 2025)

By combining technical optimisation, structural expansion of the website and targeted content development, we significantly increased organic visibility and achieved a lasting increase in qualified traffic.
